It's the ADA's Silver Anniversary! Come run to show your support of the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act in the 14th Annual ADA Memorial 5K, in the new 9K category, or in the improved 1M course.
The ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
The proceeds from the event will benefit Access to a Better Tomorrow, Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure Georgians with disabilities have equal opportunities to enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. ABT recognizes that recreation is essential to happiness, and our organization provides support to the North Georgia Screamin' Eagles Power Soccer Club. Please consider consider becoming a sponsor of the ADA Memorial, or make a donation to assist the team in purchasing new power wheelchairs for the team to increase their competitiveness in the U.S. Power Soccer Association.
